The Department provides fire suppression, rescue, medical emergency response, and public education to the community. Staffing 3, Min staffing 2) The Department consist of a Fire Chief, 3 Captains, 1 Lieutenant, 5 Full time firefighters and 8 Paid on Call/ Volunteer firefighters. The Saline Area Fire Department is currently staffed by 3 full time staff per day. Saline residents may call the Saline Area Fire Department at (734) 429-4440 to have a burn permit issued. To achieve this mission, the department’s responsibility is to preserve and protect life and property from fire and other catastrophes, and to provide education and training to the public in the area of fire prevention. The Saline Area Fire Department’s mission is to provide fire suppression, rescue, and fire prevention to the citizens of Saline, Saline Township, York Township, and Lodi Township.
